Golf has been developing as an important sporting event in Nepal in recent years. With a total of seven golf courses including one private, Nepal is slowly but steadily developing as a significant golfing destination in Asia. The capital Kathmandu itself has about three golf courses including a popular Golf Resort located about 5 kms away from Boudha which is known to have one of the finest golf courses in South Asia. Comprising the only bent grass greens in the region with 18 holes, this Golf resort is popular for hosting many prominent tournaments. Other golf courses can be found in cities such as Pokhara and Nawalparasi respectively. Golf accessories are easily accessible therefore, making it feasible for golfers to enjoy the game without any worries. Nepal offers an opportunity to both professional and amateur golfers to enjoy golfing amidst the hills, mountains by organizing tournaments as well as crash courses in the lush greens.
Nepal Tourism Board is a national tourism organization of Nepal established in 1998 by an Act of Parliament in the form of partnership between the Government of Nepal and private sector tourism industry to develop and market Nepal as an attractive tourist destination. The Board provides platform for vision-drawn leadership for Nepal’s tourism sector by integrating Government commitment with the dynamism of private sector.
