Naag Panchami is a traditional Hindu festival celebrated across Nepal and India, honoring the serpent deities known as Naag Devta. This sacred day, observed on the fifth day of the bright lunar fortnight of Shrawan, symbolizes the deep connection between humans and nature. Devotees worship snakes by offering milk, sweets, and prayers, seeking protection from harm and blessings for rainfall and prosperity.

In many homes, pictures or idols of snakes are placed above doorways as a sign of reverence and protection. Temples dedicated to Naag Devta witness special rituals, and water sources are worshipped, recognizing their life-giving importance.

Naag Panchami also teaches respect for all living beings and the environment. It’s a reminder that our cultural traditions are rooted in preserving nature’s balance.

Let us celebrate this auspicious day with devotion and a pledge to protect our heritage and environment.
